Welcome to the Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin web site. Here you will find information about the Alaskan Malamute including health issues, as well as information about our activities, rescue program, and upcoming events.

The Alaskan Malamute Club of Wisconsin, Inc. was started in 1969 by a group of people interested in the promotion of the true image of the Alaskan Malamute. It is felt that the breed can be promoted and advanced through sharing of knowledge between club members.

Wisconsin Commercial Breeder/Consumer Protection Bills introduced. These bills seek to regulate those classified as commercial breeders and provde remedies for dog purchasers. To see the bills(introduced 11/07) and the ammendments made (1/08) visit The Wisconsin State Legislature and search for Assembly Bill 587 or Senate Bill 308. UPDATE: BOTH BILLS DEFEATED 3/08! AMCW sponsors the Grey Wolf exhibit at the Milwaukee County Zoo On a recent trip, one of our members got to go behind the scenes of the exhibit. Here are a couple of pictures from that trip.

BRAG BOX

Congratulations to Pat McGovern and ThunderKloud's I've Got A Secret (Scandal). Our Scandal a/k/a ThunderKloud's I've Got A Secret was bred to Granite Ch. Terrapin Kasaan 'N Stone with puppies due approximately April 23. As this is our first "real" litter in over 14 years in Malamutes, we are thrilled. We did the breeding so that we will have a boy to keep. We'll keep you posted.

Congratulations to Jen Effler-Leveille and Storm Kloud's As Good As It Gets WWPDX WTD WLD WPD (Bella). With the achievement of Smoke's WWPD title Bella has her 4th working titled kid which earns her the AMCA's Register of Merit Working Dog (ROMWD)

Congratulations to Jen Effler-Leveille and Powderhound's My Cousin Vinny WWPD WPD WTD WLD (Vinny). Vinnie completed his WWPDA title at the Mukwonago pull in December

Congratulations to Jen and Powderhound's Smoke'M If U Got'M (Smoke). Earned his WWPD title at the Interstate Weight pulls

Congratulations to Anna and Donald Grob and Storm Kloud's Kia of Kiana (Kia). We have recently welcomed our new puppy Kia into our home. Now at 12weeks old, Kia is highly intellegent and knows several commands. I plan to train her for the obedience ring, carting,backpacking,tracking,sledding,and therapy work. Kia says she wants to do agility too. I put an agility tunnel in our yard and she ran through it several times on her own, and followed up by running across our bridge. Kia is very talented and has the attitude to do it all.

Congratulations to Al Murin and Arctic Knight's Kiuvuyat (Northern Lights) (Blaze). At the Mukwonago weight pull, Blaze weighed in at 103 pounds. I was so mad. He never weighed more than 97 pounds before. SO he decides to show off and pull 2160 pounds! First time ever over 1800! Welcome to the 1-Ton club.

Congratulations to Carol Simon & Jen Effler-Leveille and Powderhound's A Force of Won (Buster). Buster turned 6 months old on 11/3 and earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate on 11/6.

Congratulations to Kim and Dc Mals Rebel Alliance (Zayk). Zayk finished up his Rally Excellent title during National Week with a first and second placement, and earned his second leg towards his CDX Title with a first place win. Im very proud of both of my boys.

Congratulations to Kim and Vykon's Back In Blace (Will). Will earned 3 titles during Nationals week. He earned his CGC, his RN (Rally Novice)with 2 first placments and his CD with a 3rd placement.

Congratulations to Lisa Ryer and Ch. Sno Ridge's Sudden Impact (Stetson). Stetson was given an Award of Merit at the Regional Specialty

Congratulations to Lisa Ryer and Ch. Sno Ridge's Spell Binder CGC (Dixon). Dixon qualified for his first Novice Rally leg at the Regional and qualified for his second leg at the National

Congratulations to Jen Effler-Leveille and Storm Kloud's Kkrazy Cheyenne WWPD WTD WPD (Kita). Kita passed her CGC test during Nationals week.

Congratulations to Rachel Banks and Powderhound's On the Other Hand WWPDX, CGC (Travis). Travis earned his Canine Good Citizen title at the 2007 Nationals.

Congratulations to Dustin Warner and Powderhound's On the Other Hand WWPDX, CGC (Travis). Travis recieved a perfect score, and first place at Oshkosh Kennel Club running JWW on 10/21! It's his first Agility leg.

Congratulations to Kim Manassa and Vykon's Back In Black (Will). Will at the Forrest City Obedience Trial in Loves Park Illinois acheived his first title in Novice Obedience with a score of 194 and the same day got his first title in Novice Rally with a score of 88 (I cost him 10 points by missing a sign :( would have been a 98) A malamute that loves to heel----go figure.....lol

Congratulations to Dustin Warner and Vindicator's Mischief Maker (Wookie). On 4/22/2007 Wookie earned his final WWPDX leg in Michigan.

Congratulations to Rachel Banks and Powderhounds On the Other Hand (Travis). On 4/22/2007 Travis earned his final WWPDX leg. Finishing both weightpull titles this year.

Congratulations to Al Murin and Arctic Knight's Kiuvuyat (Northern Lights) (Blaze). On March 18, 2007 Blaze earned his final leg for his WWPD title.
