We often hike and camp in the Kettle Moraine Southern Unit at the Pinewoods campground, hiking the Scuppernong Trail system. Sometimes we incorporate parts of the Ice Age Trail.
AMCW doesn't charge a fee to participate, however, you will need a Wisconsin State Park vehicle pass. These can be purchased by cash or check at she self-serve stations in the parking lot or with a card at the Ottawa campground OR the headquarters on Hwy 59 near Palmyra.
If you plan to camp, you will both need to pay for your campsite (usually we split a site) as well as have a State Park vehicle pass.
We typically coordinate as to who is bringing the s'more ingredients and firewood.
Don't want to camp? That's fine, people are welcome to join us for the day.
Don't forget your tick repellant for you and your dogs!
